Help Send ACS Student Affiliates Chapter to Boston

About Us

The American Chemical Society (ACS) UMD Student Affiliates Chapter facilitates networking among students, faculty, and professionals in the fields of chemistry and related applied sciences. Our mission is to provide students with an opportunity to gain exposure to professional opportunities in chemistry. The ACS student chapter also aims to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional association, to obtain experience in preparing and presenting technical material before chemical audiences, to foster a professional spirit among the members, to instill a professional pride in the chemical sciences, and to foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist.

Our Project

We would like to request funding for the 250th ACS National Meeting and Exposition in Boston, MA, which will take place from August 16-20, 2015. At this conference, student members will attend a series of lectures featuring speakers engaged in groundbreaking research. Students will also professionally present their own research and discuss their findings with colleagues. In doing so, the students will network and develop connections with other ACS members from across the nation. These personal connections and exposure to chemistry as a profession will give tangible goals for the students to work towards when they return to the university, and will aid in their professional development.

Thank You for your Support!!!

We are hope to send at least 10 members to this conference and with your support, we will be able to reach our goal. Donations to our page will go directly to the travel expenses and registration fees to attend this conference. Thank you in advance for all of your support!

Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents.  Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Please see your tax advisor for details.
