Maryland Athletics is facing the most significant budget challenges in our history. Our ability to continue to support our teams and our student-athletes, on and off the field, is at risk.
Fighting through adversity, our student-athletes continue to grow: as people and as students. And we are supporting them more than ever. We’ve enhanced our virtual academic support efforts, increased mental health services, and emerged as a leader for new athletic training protocols. And we are honoring every scholarship, regardless if the student-athletes are able to compete.
Through a donation to the More than the Score campaign, you can help us shape the lives of our student-athletes… and the future of Maryland Athletics. With your support, we will continue to lead boldly.

What does the More than the Score campaign support?
The funds raised by the More than the Score campaign help offset some of the financial shortfalls that Maryland Athletics faces due to the impact of COVID-19. While these financial challenges are shared by athletic departments across the nation, we remain committed to our mission -- supporting the educational and athletic endeavors of over 500 student-athletes.
These contributions will help fund the increased operational expenses we face for student-athlete care, such as the cost of regular COVID-19 testing and other special physical health services like ECGs and cardiac MRIs, mental health services, technology support for virtual classes and tutoring, and enhanced safety measures implemented for strength and conditioning.
What are the benefits of supporting the More than the Score campaign?
Maryland Athletics now faces the most significant budget challenges in our history. Our ability to continue to support our teams and our student-athletes, on and off the field, is at risk. A donation to the campaign will allow us to continue shaping the lives of Terrapin student-athletes for years to come.
In addition to the satisfaction of knowing the impact your contribution is making, all donations to the campaign will earn double Terpoints (16 points per $100) and donations of $25 or more will qualify you for a special edition ‘More than the Score’ t-shirt.
In addition to the t-shirt and bonus Terpoint opportunity, Maryland Athletics would like to recognize our most generous donors who contribute $5,000 or more to this important campaign with a permanent display in XFINITY Center. Names will be proudly displayed on a Scoreboard of Support plaque on the concourse for years to come.
Do donations to the More than the Score campaign qualify for Terpoints?
Donations to the More than the Score campaign qualify for 16 Terpoints per $100, making these contributions one of the most impactful gifts you can make.
Does supporting the More than the Score campaign fulfill my Terrapin Club annual donation commitment?
Donations to the More than the Score campaign are separate from your Terrapin Club annual donation. While both are critical to the success of our athletics program, we encourage you to make a contribution to the area that speaks to your philanthropic priorities.
