It is a very exciting time for the Maryland Volleyball program! Our student-athletes have been working extremely hard on the court and in the classroom to prepare for the 2019 season and beyond.
We are thrilled to announce that our team will have the opportunity to go on an 11-day European tour in June. This trip of a lifetime will include stops in Amsterdam, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy. This trip gives our team the chance to explore different cultures, compete against various professional organizations as well as respective national teams, all while representing Maryland on the global stage.
The goal of this tour is to promote individual and team growth within our student-athletes through cultural and volleyball exposure on an international level. The bond that is created through the additional practice sessions as well as throughout the 11-days abroad has the ability to enhance our student-athlete experience beyond compare.
Three of our current student-athletes have had the chance to play in international tours - Katie Myers on the U.S. Collegiate National Team and Jada Gardner and Erika Pritchard going on the Big Ten Foreign Tour in Japan this past summer. Katie, Jada, and Erika made major leaps on and off the court as a result of their experiences overseas.
To make this trip possible, we need your help. To ensure that our team has the best experience possible, we are looking to raise $50,000 from private donations. The generous support of our loyal friends, family and alumnae is crucial in providing this once-in-a-lifetime experience for our student-athletes. The support given toward this international trip is truly appreciated by all who are a part of our Maryland Volleyball family and we’re excited to share these memories with you.
Thank you from Maryland Volleyball,
Coach Adam Hughes
