Throughout the course of the year, the A. James Clark School of Engineering has celebrated and reflected on the events and people that define our history, shaped our college, state, and nation, in inspirational, pivotal ways. Etched among the stories of our alumni and students, victories and challenges, innovations and efforts is the undeniable urge to make something better. It’s a tacit sense of risk, curiosity, perseverance, and drive. 

Clark School engineers are making life-changing advances everyday in fields spanning from energy sustainability to robotics and autonomy, from biomedical devices to quantum systems for the marketplace. 

Gifts to the Dean's Fund fund helps to solve problems and take advantage of opportunities that arise every day: to provide support for a promising but not-yet-funded research program, to purchase equipment that will improve a specific course, to enable a student or faculty member to attend an important conference. Support of the Dean’s Fund has direct and immediate impact on the lives and careers of students and faculty and our ability to begin building the future that we want for ourselves and the generations that come after us.

We, the Clark School community, have proven ourselves capable of accepting the many great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems: From economizing solar energy to restoring and improving urban infrastructure and securing cyberspace, the National Academy of Engineering’s Grand Challenges demand more than great engineers: they demand fearless engineers. That’s just what the Clark School will deliver. But we can’t do it alone.
