Due to the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak, the University of Maryland has suspended all study abroad programs for spring and summer 2020. This is extremely disappointing for our faculty, staff, and students who have worked hard to make this program possible, but this decision was made to ensure the safety and health of all involved. 

Even though this summer’s trip has been cancelled, all gifts will be used to fund future study abroad trips coordinated by the Department of African American Studies. We are so grateful to our alumni, faculty and friends who have helped us raise more than $700 already, and hope that we can send more deserving students on this trip of a lifetime next summer.
