Send Black Engineers Society to Texas!

About Us

The Black Engineers Society is a chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) with the mission to “ Increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community”.  BES is an organization dedicated to helping minority and underrepresented students succeed in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields.

Our Project

Every year NSBE has a national convention. At this 5 day convention, there is a career fair,  a college/ Grad School Fair, professional development workshops and panel discussions, all with the goal to develop the members in attendance professionally. This conventions brings together over 8,000 students and each year BES members have walked away from this convention with job and internship offers, prizes from coding and flight competitions, and countless contacts.

The 2020 convention is in San Antonio, Texas this year and due to the flight costs (~$12,000) we fear that we will be unable to continue our tradition of taking members to this great event. We have been fundraising and seeking sponsorships but as of now we are fallling short. We need your help to raise money so that we can afford to purchase tickets to take 24 members to National Convention this year.

Why Contribute?

Your donation can literally help change the lives and kick start the careers of the students in attendance! Members often walk away with job and internship offers, scholarships, networking contacts and most importantly a renewed drive and spirt to succeed. Contributing to our project will help BES continue to fulfil our mission of helping minority STEM students succeed!
