Journalism Scholarships

Roy Schwartz '98, MBA '01 will match the first $5,000 given to Journalism Scholarships.

Student aid is vital to maintain Merrill College's ability to attract and retain outstanding students. Donor support allows us to attract a talented and diverse student body from across the country, but our incoming freshmen face nearly $17,000 in unmet financial need.

To address this need, the Merrill College Board of Visitors has offered to match gifts to the Journalism Scholarships fund up to a total of $100,000. With Roy Schwartz's match of the first $5,000 given on Giving Tuesday, this means you can TRIPLE your impact on Merrill students!

Scholarships make it possible for students to take classes that interest them, intern at prestigious media outlets and take part in extracurricular activities, giving them the best journalism education possible.  Make a gift today and empower the next generation of fearless journalists to take on the most important issues of today and tomorrow!

Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents. Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please see your tax advisor for details.
