Office of Diversity & Inclusion Fund (2021)

Welcome! We are raising money this Giving Tuesday to support the ODI Fund.

The ODI Fund supports the Office of Diversity & Inclusion and its reporting units:

• ADA Compliance
• Bias Incident Support Services
• Diversity Training & Education
• LGBTQ+ Equity Center
• Nyumburu Cultural Center
• Office of Multi-ethnic Student Education
• TerrapinSTRONG

When UMD went remote at the start of the covid-19 pandemic, the Office of Diversity & Inclusion stepped up its online event offerings, including:

• The #UMDSolidarity campaign's anti-racism teach-in panel series from Diversity Training & Education, in partnership with the School of Public Health
• An ongoing panel series on Jewish identities and experiences from Diversity Training & Education (with cross-campus collaboration)
• A series of panels on free speech and social justice from Bias Incident Support Services
• A recent training on making events and meetings accessible from the ADA/504 Coordinator
• and more!

We welcome all community members to these events and record most to share publicly, but there are costs to doing this—for example, funds for speakers to honor their labor, closed captioning services to make events and recordings accessible, and more. Your Giving Tuesday gift may help support some of these thoughtful, eye-opening and community-building events, including but not limited to the elements listed in the suggested giving levels.
