Since 2020, the UMD Student Crisis Fund has distributed more than $2 million and, even now, the need for emergency student assistance continues. The Student Crisis Fund helps any currently enrolled student who faces an unanticipated emergency that requires immediate financial need.
Throughout the pandemic, nearly all of the new requests are the result of students or parents encountering financial hardships due to work disruptions. Thanks to the generosity of UMD alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends, since March 2020, the Crisis Fund has assisted more than 4,000 students.
One Big Week gifts to the Student Crisis Fund help provide emergency resources to students in need. Many more requests are expected and raising funds for this global, quick response program is essential. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.
