John Cable Retirement Fundraiser - Let's Commemorate his Accomplishments

Founder and Director of the Project Management Center for Excellence at the University of Maryland, John H. Cable, is retiring on June 30th.  We are hosting a retirement party to celebrate John's accomplishments at the University of Maryland on July 28, 2022.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT JOHN'S RETIREMENT PARTY.

To commemorate John's accomplishments as Director, we are partnering with BeSTEM! Summer Camp to create a new summer camp program for underserved middle school kids on the College Park Campus beginning summer 2023.

We need YOUR help to fund the development of this new program plus provide scholarships for underserved middle school kids to attend!

BeSTEM! Summer Camp

About the BeSTEM! Summer Camp Program

BeSTEM! Summer Camp was established in 2018 and offers campers a new STEM learning experience based on how real engineers approach and solve problems. Campers have the opportunity to learn advanced topics in robotics and engineering during a week of authentic, immersive hands-on learning. It was started by one of our Master of Engineering in Project Management (MEng) alumni, Michael Addis, and two colleagues, Omari Sarjeant and Jurgen Tabaku.

See PM Center article on the BeSTEM! Summer Camp.

The camp was doing great and then COVID hit in 2020. The camp has not been offered for the last few years because of COVID restrictions and no access to any facilities to offer the camps.  Since the Project Management Center for Excellence provided scholarships for campers in 2019 with scholarship funding raised during the Project Management Symposium, Michael Addis approached us earlier this year about potentially partnering and offering the camps at the University of Maryland. We have already met with the UMD Office of Extended Studies about offering the camps next summer, now we just need funding to get the program going.

We need YOUR help to fund the development of this new program plus provide scholarships for underserved middle school kids to attend!
