Help Students Say 'Yes' to Life-Changing Learning Opportunities

As fall edges into winter, our College Park Scholars students continue to make the most of their undergraduate experiences. Many are maximizing their time outside of class by pursuing those life-changing learning opportunities we so prize in Scholars: career-making internships, groundbreaking research, eye-opening service-learning and mindset-expanding global learning.

So many internships, research positions and service-learning opportunities, however, are unpaid, and global learning continues to be expensive. Students who are already cash- and time-strapped are forced to make difficult choices: Should they accept the internship and take on a part-time job to earn the money they need? Would they even have time for an extra job on top of service-learning and a full schedule of classes? Should they just turn down the coveted research spot and hope a paid opportunity might somehow come along later? Should they bother to register for that global learning course being led by a Scholars faculty member?

Your gift on Giving Tuesday can help.

Today, please consider making a donation to the College Park Scholars Legacy Fund, which provides modest scholarships to students faced with just this sort of quandary.

Winter break and the spring semester are when many of our Scholars ramp up their involvement in internships, research and other active learning. A gift from you today, on Giving Tuesday, will mean more students can say "yes" to these opportunities, without hesitation. Your support will allow a Scholar to take on the kind of experiential learning that could transform their life—and their future. On behalf of our Scholars, thank you.
