About Us
As the University of Maryland Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (SASLA) our mission is to lead, educate, and participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning, and artful design of our cultural and natural environments. SASLA is dedicated to promoting the study and practice of landscape architecture and providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals.
Our Project
LABash is an annual student-led landscape architecture conference hosted each year since 1970. This year’s LABash is hosted by the California Polytechnic State University, from March 19 - March 21. The three-day conference features lectures from professors and professionals, design workshops, charrettes and plenty of opportunities for networking. Each year SASLA members have walked away with internship offers and countless contacts.
SASLA has 16 members that have personally committed a total of $6,000 toward costs, fundraised $1,800 during fall 2014 fundraisers, and received $1,500 from the Student Government Association toward expenses. However we are short $7,500 which would cover the remaining flight costs. We need your help in raising $7,500 so that we can finalize our trip to LABash 2015.

Contributing to our project will help SASLA continue to fulfil our mission providing opportunities for self-development!
Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents. A donation of this amount will cover the cost for one student round trip. Donors of this level will be recognized at our end of the year banquet.
