Week One Update

April 19, 2014

THANK YOU to everyone to has given to our project thus far! In the week since our campaign's launch, we have alredy reached over 50% of our financial goal!!

We have had donations from a number of former UMD Chamber Singers already and would love to hear from more of you! Special thanks to Nick Olcott and the family of Matthew Siebenhuhner for their very generous contributions!

Every gift, small or large, is greatly appreciated as we continue to rehearse and perfect our musical program. Attached is a recording of us performing "Os Justi," a piece by Anton Bruckner-- we're planning on performing more of his choral works in Seoul. For now, we hope you enjoy the sneak preview!

New Goal: Help us reach $20,000!

April 24, 2014

WE HAVE A NEW GOAL!! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS CONTRIBUTED!

It is very exciting for us to receive support from so many people so quickly! Seeing the names of family, friends, colleagues, and UMD faculty members on our Donor Wall means a lot to us; we are so grateful for your support!

Because of the success we have experienced in this rapid climb toward our original goal of $8,000, we have RE-SET our GOAL to $20,000 and hope that everyone will spread the word to anyone and everyone who can take part!

We know that this is a big goal but we are convinced that with YOUR help we can make it happen. The UMD Chamber Singers are thrilled to be making this journey to the 10th World Symposium on Choral Music and want to share it with as many friends and family and neighbors as possible. It is YOUR efforts that help make this incredible opportunity for our singers a reality.

Please take a moment to give in any amount that you are able, or if you have already contributed, please help us spread the word about our campaign by sharing the link to this site. We deeply appreciate your help!

To go along with sharing our joy at our new goal, here's a piece of music that also brings us joy-- Johannes Brahms's "O schöne Nacht," performed by us in 2011 at the Grand Prix round of the Florilège Vocal de Tours! Enjoy!

The Final Week!!

May 05, 2014

The momentum is building!! In just the last few days we have had so many new contributors and we are truly grateful for each and every one of you!! THANK YOU! We have now far surpassed our original $8,000 goal and our new goal of $20,000 is actually in sight! With your help, we can do this! Spread the word to your families and friends and neighbors to get on board and help us GO TO KOREA!

Our "spirits sing all day" with gratitude for the outpouring of support we've recieved so far-- so here's a clip of us performing Gerald Finzi's "My Spirit Sang All Day" in Tours, France on our 2011 summer tour! Enjoy!
