New Tour Guide Gear - Maryland Images Dress for Success

Who are we?

We are Maryland Images, the tour guide organization at the University of Maryland. We work with the Office of Enrollment Management and act as the premiere image of this university for prospective students, their families, and other high school or college-age groups across the country. We serve as representatives of the university and showcase the diversity and countless opportunities available here to visitors. As the tour guides on campus, we strive for professionalism, positivity, and dedication in all aspects of our organization. We are a volunteer organization, and because of this, we would like funding to provide our volunteer tour guides with adequate tour apparel for all four seasons.

What do we need?

Due to funding, we are currently unable to provide appropriate and uniform apparel for our tour guides. Since we are the first impression of this university for over 50,000 annual visitors, it is imperative that our tour guides' apparel reflects their important role on campus.  The money we raise would be used for new apparel for our tour guides. We have over 200 guides who give hundreds of tours every semester in all weather conditions, and we are unable to provide proper apparel for them. We are interested in providing items like Maryland-branded umbrellas, winter hats, rain coats, winter jackets, gloves, long sleeve shirts, and scarves. Our guides are the University of Maryland's first point of contact with prospective students, and professional, weather-appropriate apparel will help us make an even better first impression on these students and their families; we want to be easily identifiable on campus.

Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents.  Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Please see your tax advisor for details.

$10

Tour Guide in Training

This donation is extremely valuable, as it can provide a new hat, gloves, or earmuffs for a guide. These items are so important when standing in the cold for 75 minutes.

$25

Rookie

This amount can not only buy multiple hats, gloves, and earmuffs, but also provide a guide with a scarf or umbrella! Both of these items are extremely valuable for the cold, rainy days that we so often see in March.

$50

Official Guide

With this donation, we can provide rain jackets for our guides. The ability to stay warm and dry can help a guide stay positive and energetic while giving a tour.

$100

Committee Head

With this amount, we can provide winter jackets to have on hand for our guides when it is extremely cold out. If a tour guide is suffering from the cold, so does the tour and the visitor experience; these jackets will eliminate that.

$250

Coordinator

This will provide 10 umbrellas, 25 gloves hats earmuffs or scarves, 5 jackets, or any combination of the three.

$500

Guide exTROURdinaire

You have just provided an entire class of Tour Guides in Training with matching hats to identify themselves with as tour guides on campus! Uniformity is a big priority of ours, and your donation helped us achieve it.

$1,000

Images Hall of Famer
