Terps4Terps

About the Project…

Terps4Terps, coordinated by the University of Maryland’s Omicron Delta Kappa - Sigma Circle, is raising funds to support UMD students and families personally affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. There are over 300 current UMD students from regions affected by the recent Hurricanes. Specifically, 39 students are from areas of Texas affected by Harvey, and 271 are from areas of Florida and the Caribbean affected by Irma. Funds contributed to Terps4Terps will support the University’s Student Crisis Fund, a university program dedicated to helping Terps affected by unexpected crises like these recent natural disasters. Your contribution can help members of the campus community get back on their feet in this time of great need. We hope you will join us today in uniting as one Maryland family.

***Funds not used to support Student Crisis Fund requests from victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma will ultimately be used to support other Terps in crisis.***

About the Fund…

Established in 2001, the UMD Student Crisis Fund has been a critical resource for students during their time of need. Thanks to on-going community support, the UMD Student Crisis Fund continues to...

  • Help provide students with temporary housing in emergency
  • Help replace books and supplies after a devastating fire
  • Help support students facing a medical emergency

About Omicron Delta Kappa...

Omicron Delta Kappa is a National Leadership Honor Society at the University of Maryland. Maryland's Sigma Circle works to recognize those who have attained a high standard of efficiency in five areas of collegiate activities (Scholarship; Athletics; Campus or Community Service, Social, and Religious Activities, and Campus Government; Journalism, Speech, and the Mass Media; the Creative and Performing Arts) and to inspire others to strive for conspicuous attainment along similar lines. ODK brings together the most representative students in all phases of collegiate life, ensuring an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate interest.
