We would like to start off by saying thank you to all whom have donated thus far. With 13 days remaining in our fundraiser we have raised 127% of our goal. Never would we have thought that our project would be funded with this much time remaining in our fundraiser. This however does not mean we are going to stop. In our description we mentioned that the goal of $7000 would help fund our project for 1-2 years, but that would be doing a limited number of launches and then eventually having the project stop. We would like to see this project become funded for years to come, not just the near future. This is where the continued fundraising comes in, we are now looking to add a stretch goal of $10,000 in order for us to purchase more radiosondes and weather balloons to have our project run longer. As our department grows, we look to these weather balloon launches and the potential research and learning advances that can be provided as a selling point in allowing our department to grow by recruiting more students and hopefully collaborating with the National Weather Service.
We ask that you share this great news with your friends and colleagues and please help us reach our stretch goal!
Thank you! $10 will buy a one-time use balloon for us to use for launches
$25 will provide enough helium to fill a balloon and lift our instrument high into the sky!
Donate at or above this level to come witness our initial balloon launch.
Donate at or above this level to get your name or message flown on one of our balloons.
$200 will cover the cost of a reusable radiosonde as well as the helium/balloon for one launch.
A generous donation of $500 would purchase a laptop for portable data collection (or enough helium and balloons for over 10 launches!)
Donors who give $1000 get to release the balloon for one of our first launches.
