What Terp and Eagle Science Club means to one of our tutors, Maddie

November 10, 2015

Thank you for your Support!  We appreciate our fantastic donors!

We thought you might enjoy hearing from Maddie, who is one of our freshmen tutors. The kids love her and you will always see children hugging and high-fiving her! :)  We see this happen with all our tutors. The elementary students recognize that the UMD students truly care about them. TESC is a passion for our tutors; they are mentors and role models to the kids they are working with each week. We want each of the kids we are working with to have the goal of attending college!

A few words from Mrs. Greene, the 4th grade math teacher

November 04, 2015

Talking to Mrs. Greene on a one-to-one basis this week and reflecting on her comments really reinforced the importance of what TESC  has been doing and will continue to do for the children. The number one way for children to develop positive habits and ingrain material learned in the classroom, is through completion of homework. It warmed our hearts to know that all the children can successfully complete their homework and be on the path to a great future, regardless of whether their parents are able to help them with it. Thank you for your continued support.

Week One Update

November 01, 2015

A huge thanks to our amazing donors! With your help we are 44% of the way to our goal. Our 20 awesome tutors have been working so hard and with this help we will be able to work with even more Eagle students on difficult concepts. Currently, the 5th graders are learning about finding the area of prisms in math--it is some tough stuff! The Terps are doing great work with the Eagles of Carole Highlands.
